Yes, I’m sharing travels from almost 5 years ago. Why? Well I know one day I’ll go back, but I can’t wait that long to share with you how much I love this place.
In the Fall of 2011, I had the opportunity to live in Budapest, Hungary for a semester. As a junior in college, I had never left my hometown of Grand Rapids, MI for more than a week or two and decided to take the leap and live in an entirely new country. One I knew hardly anything about. All I can say is, if you are presented with that kind of opportunity, take it. It changed me in bigger and more ways than I can ever explain.
Whenever I go back, I’ll take more photos and I’ll be sure to provide you with more information about all the places you must see and things you should really do. For now, just let your travel itch begin.
Been to Budapest? Favorite places? Please share!

I visited Budapest in 2009 and it was…interesting. I know people LOVE it there, but I just didn’t get the draw. The history museum and events at the castle were fun though! We travelled there from Vienna, which is seriously amazing.

I can see how compared to cities like Prague, Vienna, or even further west like London and such Budapest might seem a little rougher/not as friendly, but I think part of the draw for me is that it’s really a city that you have to dig into. Maybe sometime you’ll go again and like it more!
